Brownsburg, Indiana is a town located in Hendricks County which is situated in the central portion of Indiana. Brownsburg had a population of approximately 21,285 people in 2010 according to the United States Census Bureau. The town was laid out by William Harris in 1835 and in 1836 a post office was established in the town. Brownsburg’s first election was held in 1848 and by 1869, the Big Four Railroad opened service to Brownsburg.
